We have pushed our departure no less than 6 times – starting with the first push in June due to the pandemic. On Sunday night, filled with exhaustion after we found the hot water pipe burst under the bench seat in the salon (spraying all the provisioned food – thankfully mostly jars and cans), the entire sink collapsed and needed replacement, and the newly installed electrical system had not been tested and seemed to have some issues, we made a decision to NOT leave Monday morning.
This decision was the best decision! We spent Monday getting organized and testing the electrical system which was time very well spent. We also got the other solar panel hung for transporting it (better than tripping over it in the cockpit).
So, Tuesday morning was D-day and off we went at 7:30 (We really tried to depart by 6:00, but it was cold and dark and wind was blowing…)
